Rooted in Revolution
Join us from 5:00 to 7:30 PM at Michael E. Busch Library for the second installment of “Rooted in Revolution: 250 Years of Black History in Annapolis.”
This month-long series not only serves to educate people about the long and storied history of Annapolis’s Black community, but also as a forum for people to share their experiences and learn from each other as they discuss the cultural legacy of Black Annapolitans.
The second session is titled “Building Community: Faith, Education, and Black Institutions,” and focuses on highlighting Black churches, schools, mutual aid societies, and leadership through Emancipation and Jim Crow. It will feature a discussion with panelists including Senator Shaneka Henson, Archie Trader, Derek Matthews, and Dr. Randy Rowell, moderated by William Rowell. We hope to see you there!
